Marble is one of the most beautiful kitchen countertop materials available on the market. This is in part down to the fact that each and every marble countertop will have its own unique pattern. No matter how much processing that marble has undergone, that pattern will remain. Marble is very sensitive stone so using it for your kitchen countertop you will have to be very careful. You will need to make sure that it is wiped clean after every use to keep it in the best possible condition though. Make sure you maintain it yearly and you should be fine.  


Granite is another material which finds its way into your kitchen, has a more traditional look to it. Granite is a durable and stain resistant stone. Each stone is unique as marble. Anything you put granite on will look different and beautiful. Most people choose granite because it is hard wearing and needs less maintenance to marble. All you need to do is clean up after yourself when you cook and you shall be fine. Granite countertops have the potential to stay looking brilliant for decades.  


Soapstone is something that just became popular in recent years. These stones will require a lot of maintenance. It has a very modern look so most clients do not worry about the maintenance but the look.  

Engineered Stone

If you are looking for something very tough then you might want to look for quartz which is engineered stones. Example of some engineered stones Cambria, Silestone and Caesar stone. They are non porous, hard wearing, they last for many years. Most companies give you guarantees on their stones. When you do your kitchen you should always fist choose you countertop because it will be the centerpiece of you kitchen. After you choose your countertop then everything else comes easy. Well selected countertops will give you many years of great use. Remember buy cheap get cheap. The cheapest is never the cheapest it’s the most expensive because you will need to purchase another one.
