What is Marble?
Marble is a hard crystalline metamorphic rock that takes high polish; used for sculptures and building materials.
Even though marble and granite have a similar aesthetic, they can be better suited for specific purposes.
Marble lasts as long as granite does but it is typically used for bathrooms, floors, walls, vases, statues.
Because marble is sensitive to acidic foods it has a intendancy to stain and it is not ideal for kitchen counter tops.
Marble Advantages:
Granite is a plutonic igneous rock having visibly crystalline texture; generally composed of feldspar, mica, and quartz.
Granite is one of the hardest of all commercial stones, granite is an excellent choice for counter tops, and outdoor use.
Granite has a range of colors that can compliment the many wood tones.
Granite is comparatively inexpensive to many man made non-porous materials.
Because it is a natural stone, each stone is unique. Granite is able to withstand up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit and as therefore ideal for kitchen counter tops.
